Wildlife is abundant in the park and is well catered for in terms of nature watching cabins and areas.

The Millenium Coastal cycle path, part of the National Cyclepath Network works its way along some 20 miles of local coastline, passing through Burry Port, linking up local landmarks in an environmentally friendly way.

Places 'en route' include Kidwelly Castle, Penclacwydd Wetfowl Centre, The New Jack Nicholas Golf Coplex, as well as the Loughor Estuary, the beautiful Clyne and Gwendraeth Valleys, together with the world famous Mumbles near Swansea.

The course is recognised by Formula One racing teams as a good testing circuit and, over the years,  many famous teams have tested there.

The Pembrey Airfield now provides fast and efficient links to Cardiff and London and will surely expand on a national and international level as its operations increase.

Burry Port itself is witnessing a boom time as the area is about to undergo an major uplift.

Pembrey Racecourse is another exciting adventure that will almost certainly raise the profile of the area as it becomes one of only two new racecourses to be built in the past few decades. The racecourse will offer 21st Century facilities and will be the envy of the Welsh race going fraternity. Just don't loose your shirt while you're there!

This feel good factor is sure to rub off on the whole of the community, to which Burry Port Junior School plays a central role.
