Llandybie and the Second World War
We have undertaken this project to advance the education of young people in Llandybie and improve their literacy, numeracy and ICT skills through the study of the history and culture of their local area, to enable them to value their heritage and help in its preservation.We have encouraged pupils of all ages and abilities to take part, and aim to provide opportunities for the whole age and ability range to find out more about the wealth and diversity of their heritage and share their knowledge and understanding with their own communities and the wider world.
The children have undertaken their own research for primary evidence in the form of interviews, ration books, identity cards, school log books etc. They have combined these with other sources of evidence to complete their individual projects. A selection of these projects are available to view on the website which the children have helped to construct.
