Welcome
Pwll Primary School is situated in an elevated position in School Road with a breathtaking view over the Burry Estuary and surrounding countryside. The present building was erected in the 1930's, the school at that time being divided into an Infant School and a Junior School. The two 'schools' were amalgamated and an adjoining corridor added later. The school is quite a large building and there are ample yard and classroom areas for the children. An Autistic Unit was formed and housed in one of the spare rooms in 1992 and the integration and links between the mainstream and Unit children benefits both parties enormously.
The recent Estyn inspection reported the 'Pwll Primary is a good school. The school is a happy and caring community where staff and pupils are very supportive of each other. Pupils behaviour is very good and the quality of education provision in the school is at least good with some very good features.' The report went on to say that 'the school offers good value for money' (a copy of the full report is available to those who request it).
