Attendance It is the responsibility of parents to ensure that pupils arrive promptly in school every morning in a condition to work. The Register will be kept open for twenty minutes after the bell sounds and pupils who arrive after that time will be marked absent for the morning. The Welsh Office insist that schools classify all absences as authorised or unauthorised. Authorised absences must further be classified according to the reason, M = Medical and so forth. When a pupil is absent, parents are requested to send a note to school upon the child's return, stating the reason for the absence. Many parents also phone or contact the school as soon as they know that their child is likely to be away from school for some time. This is very much appreciated. If a note is not received upon a child's return after absence, the school will send out a reminder in the form of a standard letter for parents to complete requesting a reason for the absence. If no reason is forthcoming, the school will be compelled to enter the absence as unauthorised
The Parents' Association There is a very hard-working and supportive Parents' Association at the school which works unstintingly to raise much needed money for the school through various events and activities. The P.A. would very much welcome new members to serve on the committee that organise these events and interested parents would be very welcome at their regular meetings
